The inaugural circulating coinage of the decimal New Zealand Dollar (NZD) introduced to replace the pound system. This classic batch features large-format, heavy cupro-nickel and bronze denominations. All coins display the youthful first decimal portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, designed by Arnold Machin.
